Musikcube
In the past three or four months, I’ve been trying out multiple local music players. Since I am still using macOS, there were some music players that were only for macOS.
However, there is only one I keep coming back to – Musikube.
It’s simple enough, yet not too simple to lack features. It plays everything from my collection, displays it as a library, and has strong search/filter functionality. The last one is a must, since I’m nearing 1TB for my library size.
Oh! It also has built-in last.fm scrobbling!
The controls are super easy to remember; often its TUI tells you right away which key to press for each function or view. I wish I could edit the width of some columns in the play queue view, but that’s a minor complaint. Musikube is coming with me on my journey to get away from big tech.
